Across educational institutions, workplaces, student lodges, universities, and establishments, where large communal viewings were orchestrated, an air of fervent anticipation and exhilaration prevailed as the landing operation initiated around 5:45 p.m. Within a mere 20 minutes, these gatherings burst into exultation, commemorating this monumental lunar landing.

The day had commenced with devoted prayers at numerous temples, beseeching success for the mission. The Visakha Sri Sarada Peetham, visited by chief ministers from various states, conducted the ‘Vana Durga Homam,’ seeking a secure descent for Vikram.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Reddy conveyed the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 as a source of immense pride for the nation. He lauded the ISRO team for etching history and advancing celestial science with their resounding triumph. He noted that the exploration of uncharted polar territories elevated the expedition’s complexity, while the global audience looked upon India with admiration. Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer stated that every Indian stood tall in light of Chandrayaan-3’s remarkable achievement.

Praising India’s accomplishment, P Solomon, a tenth-grade student at a private school in MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam, hailed the creation of a new historical chapter. He extended his congratulations to the ISRO scientists for their exceptional work. Vara Lakshmi, also in the tenth grade at SKPVV Hindu High School, echoed this sentiment. She emphasized that ISRO serves as a beacon of inspiration and resilience. Despite a setback during the last phase of Chandrayaan-2, their determination remained unshaken. Now, their success in lunar landing fills the nation with pride, Lakshmi remarked.
