In a celebration of cultural diversity and talent, Andhra University is set to host the prestigious Inter-University South Zone Youth Fest 2024. The event, scheduled to take place from January 5 to 9, 2024, will serve as a vibrant platform for students from universities across South India to showcase their artistic prowess.
Announcing the grand occasion, Registrar Prof James Stephen expressed enthusiasm about the convergence of students from diverse backgrounds. The university recently conducted a festival organizing committee meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the much-anticipated event.
Prof Stephen disclosed that the youth fest will feature a plethora of events in 28 different categories, catering to a wide range of interests and talents. Dean of Student Affairs and Cultural Event Coordinator, Prof N Vijaya Mohan, highlighted the inclusivity of the fest, stating that online applications will open on November 30, providing an accessible avenue for participants.
“The events will encompass a variety of cultural and artistic domains, including classical solo performances in music, both Hindustani and Carnatic, classical solo instrumental performances, percussion, folk orchestra, debates, skits, on-the-spot painting, clay modeling, photography, tribal dance, quizzes, theatre, literary events, mimicry, performing arts, and more,” shared Prof Mohan. A model proforma for student applications will be made available on the Andhra University website to facilitate smooth participation.
To ensure the seamless execution of the fest, Andhra University has constituted a committee comprising heads of various departments, tasked with overseeing the meticulous arrangements for this cultural extravaganza.
