Uruguay won 2-0 against Argentina in a World Cup qualifying match, ending Argentina’s unbeaten streak since winning the World Cup. Meanwhile, Brazil lost 2-1 to Colombia. Brazil’s star players Neymar and Casemiro were injured, and Colombia’s Luiz Diaz scored two goals, leading to Brazil’s second consecutive defeat.

Despite these losses, Argentina still leads the South American qualifying group with 12 points, followed by Uruguay with 10 points and Colombia with nine. Brazil is in fifth place with seven points. The top six teams in South America will directly enter the 2026 World Cup, with the seventh-place team having a chance in a playoff.
