Arrest Made in Vizag Mahadev Betting App Scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched an investigation into a scam involving the Mahadev betting app in Vizag. The probe led to the arrest of one individual in connection with the case. The court has granted permission for the probing agency to arrest Nitish Dhawan, who is currently incarcerated in a jail in Chhattisgarh. Dhawan is to be taken into custody for remand for eight days. The ED will then present Dhawan before the Visakhapatnam Court for further investigation. It has been alleged that Dhawan has amassed thousands of crores of rupees through the Mahadev betting app operation spanning across the country.

The ED initiated its investigation into the Mahadev betting app scam on Monday, following previous findings indicating that the app was involved in transferring funds through hawala channels while masquerading as a legitimate betting platform. In earlier actions related to the case, assets valued at ₹417 crore were seized. Additionally, several names from the Bollywood industry have been implicated in connection with this scam. Subsequently, the ED proceeded to arrest Nitish Dhawan, the director of the Mahadev betting app.
