Director General of Police (DGP) Kesireddy Rajendranath Reddy stated that the crime rate of Andhra Pradesh declined by 20% overall as compared to the last year.
After the construction of the DSP office in Narasapur of West Godavari district on Saturday, the GDP came before the media and said the crime rate of ganja smuggling is reduced in the state after strengthening the surveillance. It proved a positive result.
104 convictions were introduced to grave crimes, stated by the DPS. 3 people were sentenced to death, 37 people were declared for life imprisonment, and 62 were to jail terms ranging from 7-20 years in different cases. A total of 14,000 cases were identified and at least 10 cases were given to SP’DSP and the station house for personal monitoring. He also stated that the Ganja farm of 7,500 acres and 1,000 acres were destroyed in the year 2021 and 2022 respectively.
He also mentioned that those who left the illegal work voluntarily were provided with alternative livelihood.
A group of 130 members is selected to check cyber crime happening all over social media like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp. Narasapur MLA M Prasada Raju, Eluru Range DIG GVG Ashok Kumar, land donor Viswanatha Raju and other were present at the spot.
