Visakhapatnam: Minister for Revenue Dharmana Prasada Rao reaffirmed the commitment of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government to provide housing for every poor family in Andhra Pradesh under the Navaratnalu scheme, as promised in Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s election manifesto.
The inauguration of the Jagananna Housing Colony layout in Vappangi village, Srikakulam district, marked a significant milestone in this endeavor. Minister Prasada Rao addressed the villagers, emphasizing that welfare schemes, including housing, are allocated based on eligibility rather than political affiliations.
Highlighting the historical plight of families without proper housing since Independence, Minister Prasada Rao expressed the government’s determination to fulfill their dreams of owning a house. He disclosed that approximately 25 lakh houses are under construction as part of the Navaratnalu scheme, with an initial phase targeting 20,000 houses in Srikakulam district alone. The minister also disclosed that the government has invested Rs 12,000 crore in acquiring land for these housing projects.
Addressing concerns about opposition parties’ claims, Minister Prasada Rao urged the public to trust the YSRCP government and not be misled by false promises. He urged voters to support Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration for another term, ensuring the continuity of benefits for the next five years.
Furthermore, Minister Prasada Rao inaugurated the Rythu Bharosa Kendram and Sachivalayam buildings in Vappangi village, underscoring the government’s commitment to holistic development and welfare.
The Jagananna Housing Colony initiative stands as a testament to the YSRCP government’s dedication to upliftment and empowerment, promising a brighter future for every underprivileged family in Andhra Pradesh.
