Jindal Stainless has joined hands with the MSME Technology Centre in Visakhapatnam to produce specialized components essential for missiles and satellite launch vehicles. This collaboration aims to empower local MSMEs and enhance the manufacturing capabilities crucial for defence, aerospace, and other industries.


Jindal Stainless, a prominent player in the stainless steel sector, has recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the MSME Technology Centre (MTC) located in Visakhapatnam. The agreement signifies a strategic move towards manufacturing specialized components vital for missiles and satellite launch vehicles, contributing significantly to the defence and aerospace sectors.

The MoU is poised to support local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), fostering the production of various crucial components such as motor casings, missile wings, missile launch structures, and rocket motor boosters. This collaboration is expected to substantially enhance the manufacturing capabilities of components and sub-assemblies essential for defence, aerospace, and related industries.

Headed by Prasada Reddy G., the MSME Technology Centre in Visakhapatnam stands as a premium skill development center established under the aegis of the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises with support from the World Bank. The primary objective of the center is to offer world-class education, skill development training, and innovation research across multiple disciplines to cultivate high-quality human resources proficient in interdisciplinary areas of engineering technologies.

Additionally, the MTC extends its support to MSMEs, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), and Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) by providing design, development, and manufacturing assistance in mechanical, electrical, and electronics disciplines.

Prior to this collaboration, Jindal Stainless has been actively involved in supplying materials for key projects under esteemed organizations such as the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Notable projects include satellite launchers like PSLV, GSLV Mk-3, Chandrayaan, and Gaganyaan.

Moreover, Jindal Stainless has pioneered the development of world-class armour solutions, including bullet-proof morchas and podiums, catering to the requirements of various Indian defence forces such as the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Service Selection Board (SSB), police forces, and other security agencies.

Jindal Stainless has also achieved AS9100 accreditation, a prestigious quality management system for aviation, space, and defence organizations, placing it among the select few companies worldwide. With its commitment to excellence and innovation, Jindal Stainless continues to solidify its position as one of the top 10 stainless steel conglomerates globally.
