Despite consulting numerous doctors, the nature of the disease remained elusive. It was only 11 days before her demise that Suhani was admitted to AIIMS hospital in New Delhi, where tests identified the illness as dermatomyositis, an exceptionally rare condition. Treatment involved steroids, but this weakened her immune system, leaving her susceptible to infections.

Suhani’s father explained that recovery from dermatomyositis is a lengthy process, but due to her compromised immunity, she contracted a severe infection in the hospital. This infection impacted her lungs, filling them with fluid and making breathing difficult. Tragically, on the evening of February 16th, Suhani succumbed to the complications.

Her mother, Pooja Bhatnagar, expressed immense pride in her daughter, highlighting Suhani’s achievements, including being selected from 25 thousand children for her role in ‘Dangal.’ Suhani, described as “God’s child,” had a promising future ahead. She had a passion for modeling since childhood and was pursuing Mass Communication and Journalism, aspiring to return to acting after completing her studies.

Suhani’s untimely death has left the film industry and her fans in shock. The young talent, who received acclaim for her performance in ‘Dangal,’ was also known for her work in commercial ads. Her dreams of returning to acting after completing her studies remain unfulfilled.

Suhani Bhatnagar’s mortal remains were cremated on February 17th, marking the end of a promising life cut short by a rare and devastating illness. The film industry mourns the loss of a talented and aspiring actress, remembering her for the mark she left in ‘Dangal’ and the potential that will forever remain unrealized.
