TMC MP Mahua Moitra is in trouble due to allegations against her. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) started a preliminary inquiry against her based on corruption accusations related to taking money in exchange for asking questions in Parliament. This action was taken following a complaint filed by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.
Recently, there’s been an increase in Moitra’s difficulties. CBI, as directed by the anti-corruption Lokpal, has begun a preliminary investigation against the Lok Sabha member. This information was provided by officials on Saturday. Nishikant Dubey had complained against Moitra regarding accepting money and asking questions in Parliament.
Dubey also accused Moitra of making a deal with national security for monetary gain. The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee is investigating allegations against Moitra as well.
The CBI has initiated a preliminary investigation to determine whether the accusations are worth a thorough probe. If enough evidence is found during this initial inquiry, the CBI might escalate the investigation further.
Additionally, Dubey accused Moitra of targeting Adani Group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament on the advice of businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for gifts. However, Moitra denied any wrongdoing and claimed she was being targeted for questioning Adani Group deals.
