800 crores allocated in Visakhapatnam for Railway infrastructure projects

The Union Ministry of Railways planned the new infrastructure projects in Vizag. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that a total of 800 crore will be allocated to make new railway tract and flyovers introducing the modern era in Vizag.

In response to a question asked by BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao, Vaishnaw replied that the project is going to address capacity constraints, train delays, and related problems. He also stated that the 3rd and 4th railway tracts will be built along 15.3 KM between the Visakhapatnam and Gopalapatnam stations with an estimated expenditure of 160 crores.

And also a new tract will form about 20.54 KM between Duvvada and Simhachalam North station, here the estimated expenditure is about 302 crores. To check the effective movement of the raw materials and goods between the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and Gangavaram Port government collected a fund of about 155 crores.

Instead of these, there will be a building of a new flyover between the Pendurthi and Simhachalam North stations which will probably take 183.65 crores. Also, they have further plans of making the 3rd and 4th railway tracts between Vadlapudi and Gate Junction cabin, which will be about 12.04 KM.

These projects signify a significant step towards enhancing railway connectivity and operations in the Visakhapatnam region.
