  1. Historic Qualification by Nepal and Oman: In the Asia regional qualifiers, both Nepal and Oman secured their spots for the 2024 T20 World Cup by winning their respective semi-final matches. Oman defeated Bahrain by ten wickets, while Nepal overcame the United Arab Emirates by eight wickets in a challenging encounter.
  2. Oman’s Victory: Akib Ilyas played a crucial role by taking four wickets and conceding only ten runs, assisting in limiting Bahrain to a score of 106 for the loss of 9 wickets. Opening batsmen Kashyap Prajapati and Pratik Airee easily chased down the target within six overs.
  3. Nepal’s Triumph: Nepal’s spinners, Kushal Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane, restricted the UAE to 134 for the loss of 9 wickets. Aravind contributed with a half-century but lacked significant support from his teammates. Asif Sheikh, a top-order batsman for Nepal, played an exceptional inning, securing the win with a resilient 63 runs.
  4. Qualification and Tournament Details: Nepal and Oman have confirmed their places in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be hosted by the West Indies and America. With these qualifications, a total of 18 teams have secured their spots in the tournament. The last two spots will be determined through the Africa qualifiers, which are set to conclude at the end of the month.
  5. Participating Teams: The tournament will feature a total of 20 teams. Among those already qualified are Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, USA, PNG, Canada, Nepal, and Oman. The remaining two spots will be decided after the African qualifiers conclude.
