This is commonly referred to as Muhurat Trading, lasting for one hour in the evening. The timing for this session is predetermined and has been announced in advance. Following tradition, Muhurat Trading will take place this year on the evening of November 12. Timing for Muhurat Trading

According to the NSE, on November 12, Muhurat Trading will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM. The pre-opening session will be from 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM, followed by the regular trading session from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM. The block deal window will open at 5:45 PM, and modification of trades can be done until 7:25 PM. The closing session for Muhurat Trading is scheduled from 7:25 PM to 7:35 PM. The Call Auction Illiquid Session will take place between 6:20 PM and 7:05 PM.

Market Expectations

In the last five years, the Sensex has consistently shown positive movement during Muhurat Trading. The Sensex has closed in the green during each of these occasions. In the previous year, 2022, the Sensex witnessed a significant gain of 524 points within the one-hour Muhurat Trading session. Similarly, in 2021, the Sensex closed with a gain of 296 points during Muhurat Trading. Experts anticipate a positive market movement during this year’s Diwali Muhurat Trading session.
