Stringent Drunk Driving Checks, Traffic Restrictions, and Heightened Security to Ensure Safe Festivities
As the countdown to the New Year begins, the Vizag city police have unveiled a robust plan encompassing rigorous drunk driving checks, traffic constraints, and heightened security measures across the city for the upcoming celebrations.
Police authorities have issued comprehensive guidelines to the managements of hotels, clubs, and restaurants in preparation for the New Year’s festivities on the night of December 31 and January 1. Dr. A Ravi Shankar, the Chief of Vizag City Police, emphasized that strict actions will be taken against any violations of the regulations during the celebrations. To manage crowds and avert any untoward incidents, all events within the city, including those at hotels, clubs, and pubs, are mandated to conclude by 1 am. Additionally, the managements of these establishments must secure prior permission for hosting the celebrations.
In adherence to the AP Public Safety (measures) Enforcement Act-2013, event organizers are obligated to install CCTV cameras with recording capabilities at all entry and exit points, as well as parking areas. Furthermore, they must provide ample security personnel for both traffic management and overall security, ensuring smooth access to their establishments. Organizers are also required to maintain standards of decency in apparel, dance acts, gestures, and language during the events, with strict prohibitions against obscenity or nudity in any performances.
The guidelines further dictate that sound levels should not exceed 45 decibels, and organizers are explicitly warned against allowing firearms at the event venues. The stringent measures aim to create a secure and enjoyable environment for the New Year celebrations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the city’s residents and visitors alike.
