Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar found himself in a tight spot on Friday as the Regional Inspection Office (RIO) of the Board of Intermediate Education imposed a hefty fine of Rs. 2.5 lakh. The penalty was levied against Kumar for the alleged unauthorized relocation of Ramabanam Junior College from its designated premises in Old Town to Asilmetta, where his party office is situated.
RIO K. Satyanarayana disclosed that a separate notice is in the works, set to be issued to the MLA in connection with the purported distribution of liquor bottles within the college classrooms during the recent Kanuma festival celebrations. While emphasizing their current focus on finalizing exam schedules, Satyanarayana assured that the notice concerning the liquor incident would be issued within the next day or two.
The allegations against the MLA stem from accusations of organizing the distribution of liquor and chicken to approximately 400 party workers within the college premises during the festive occasion. The RIO’s actions mark a significant step in addressing these concerns and ensuring accountability for any violations.
The imposition of the fine and the impending probe highlights the seriousness of the situation, with authorities taking swift action against any perceived irregularities. The MLA, Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, now faces scrutiny on two fronts – one for the unauthorized relocation of the college and another for the alleged distribution of liquor, which may have legal repercussions.
As the investigations unfold, the public awaits further developments in this unfolding story, with a keen eye on the outcomes of the dual challenges faced by the Vizag MLA.
