ith only two weeks left before the official relocation of the Chief Minister’s camp office (CMO) to Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh State Government issued Government Order 2015 on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. This GO outlines plans to focus on the development of Uttarandhra, the northern coastal region of the state. Under this order, ministers and relevant officials will make regular visits to this region to assess and oversee various welfare and developmental initiatives.
As part of this initiative, Visakhapatnam will host transit offices for ministers to monitor the development efforts, in addition to the Chief Minister’s camp office. A committee, which includes the Special Chief Secretary (MA & UD), Special Chief Secretary (Finance), and Secretary (Services & HRM), has been tasked with identifying suitable locations for these offices and reporting to the General Administration Department. The Government Order underscores the region’s lower socio-economic development in key areas such as health, education, irrigation, and connectivity. It urges officials to visit these areas to better understand their needs, with a recommendation to arrange their accommodations in and around Visakhapatnam.
It is already known that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has confirmed the shift to Vizag on Vijaya Dasami, which falls on October 24. The construction of the camp office at Rushikonda is in its final stages.
