In a momentous announcement at a press conference held at AU Hindi Bhavan on Friday, Padma Bhushan Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, the president of Lok Nayak Foundation, revealed that this year’s Lok Nayak Foundation Award will be bestowed upon the renowned novelist Yandamuri Virendranath. The prestigious award, which comes with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, is a recognition of Virendranath’s outstanding contributions to the literary world.
Lakshmi Prasad highlighted the foundation’s longstanding tradition of honoring exceptional individuals from various fields for the past 19 years on the occasion of NTR’s death anniversary. This year, the coveted award will be presented by popular actor Chiranjeevi, adding an extra layer of glamour to the ceremony.
The foundation will not only recognize the literary prowess of Yandamuri Virendranath but will also honor three other distinguished individuals with cash awards of Rs 50,000 each. International tourism expert Wilson Sudhakar Thulumilli, Bengaluru Telugu Samakhya president Radhakrishnan Raju, and renowned psychiatrist Dr. Indla Ramasubba Reddy will be recipients of these esteemed awards.
Chiranjeevi, set to grace the event as the presenter, will hand over the cash award to Yandamuri Virendranath in acknowledgment of his remarkable literary achievements.
